Meet Ian Roth

Class of 2018

Major: MIDDLE-LEvel Education

Fun Fact: ian is a huge Philadelphia Sports Fan!

Ian Roth is a third-year senior from Sinking Spring, PA who will be graduating in May of 2018. He is majoring in Middle-Level Education with concentrations in Social Studies and Mathematics.

How have you been involved on campus?

In addition to being in the Leadership Fellows Program, I have served as the student representative on the College of Education Dean Search Committee, President of Eastern's Education Society (Kappa Delta Pi), a residential assistant in Eagle Hall, a pitcher on the university's baseball team, a singer in the University Choir, and worship leader for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Can you tell us more about the writing scholarship you received?

I was selected as the winner of the Delaware Valley Education Consortium (DVEC) Hannah Amgott Memorial Scholarship. The DVEC is composed of 24 colleges and universities. This scholarship is awarded to five students from colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area who exhibit excellence in the pursuit of education. 

What are your plans for after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to stay at Eastern to student teach, play baseball, and complete my Masters in Multicultural Education.
