Josh Carson (Class of 2013)

LFP Cohort Class: 2013
Major: Youth Ministry & Biblical Studies
EU Leadership: Student Chaplain and LFP Board.
Thoughts on LFP Experience?
My experience in LFP equipped me with language, theory, and opportunities to practice leadership from the perspective of the followers. It also gave me a space to discover my own leadership gifts and skills, which allows me to work more effectively with and empower people who have other different, but complimentary, gifts and skills.
What are you up to today?
Since graduating in 2013 I have been serving part-time as the Pastor of Student Ministries at First Baptist Church of Bethlehem, PA, where I am a licensed pastor in the American Baptist Churches USA. I have also been studying full time at Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University in the Masters of Divinity Program. At Palmer I have been a Sider Scholar, working with The Sider Center for Ministry and Public Policy and Evangelicals for Social Action. While at Palmer I have been elected to the Student Assembly (Palmer's student government) as Secretary (2015-2016) and Moderator (2016-2017, Moderator is the equivalent of student body president). I also got married in the summer of 2015 to Lindsay (Martin) Carson (LFP 2012).
Future Plans or Aspirations?
After graduating from Palmer Seminary (in May 2017) I hope to serve the Kingdom of God through long-term vocational youth ministry and/or by serving other faith-based institutions.
Josh was a guest speaker for EU's 2016 Academic Convocation. For more on that story click here.
